Hamilton started the day with four wrestlers vying to place in the top eight at the individual state finals. However, junior Collin Welcher is the only Hawkeye still standing. He will wrestle for an individual state championship tomorrow.

Hamilton senior Will Braschler (34-12) was knocked out of the individual state finals after losing a 3-0 decision to Skip Conner (44-9) of Madison Heights Lamphere.

All four Hamilton wrestlers have won at least one match at the individual state finals this weekend. Collin Welcher is one win away from the 103 lb. title match, while Harley Compagner (140), and Cameron Stoel (171) are battling through the consolation bracket. Will Braschler lost his second match earlier today.
