9th annual Hawkeye Film Festival a success

Hamilton High School’s Script Writing class hosted the annual Hawkeye Film Festival May 22 in the HS auditorium. ¬† Now in its ninth year, the evening was filled with top performances by student filmmakers from Mr. Mark Behnke’s classes.

In addition to films from various categories – including Best Video Game short and Best TV show intro – the evening included Wednesday Night Live, the sketch comedy portion of the night.

More than 400 people attended the event and many commented on the quality of the student produced work.

Receiving a special award at the beginning of the night was Mr. Paul Prins, auditorium supervisor.  Hamilton seniors Janna Kollen, Hosi Olah, and Brittney Saagman presented Mr. Prins with a plaque that bestowed upon him the title of Honorary Member of the Script Writing class.

His help with students and their videos was obviously appreciated since the students came up with the idea for the recognition.
