Choir prepares for Oct. 30 concert

As the weather outside is growing colder, the Hamilton High School choir classes are warming up their vocal chords. October 30 is the set date for their next concert performance.

Music selections that will be featured are titled: “Come to Me, Oh My Love”, “I’ll Sing My Maker’s Praise”, “Stormy Weather”, and “The Wind”. Also featured are songs in foreign languages such as “Bonse Aba”, “Dona Nabis”, and “Veni Jesu”.

“My favorite song is ‘Come to Me, Oh My Love’”, Honors Choir singer Kelly Klingenberg said, “A lot of our songs are energetic and have a good beat.”

This concert will highlight solos from Courtney Johnson, Caitlin Lohr, and Tia Tamminga in “Bonse Aba”. The jazzier “Stormy Weather” will present some duet action between Rob Wood and Casey Prins.

Honors Choir, Women’s Choral, and Musical Theatre classes will all be performing during the show.

Eric Slenk, a member of the Honors Choir, hopes to showcase the three choirs in the upcoming concert. “We’ve shown marked improvement and it’ll be a really enriching experience for anyone who goes.”
