Freshmen baseball splits doubleheader

On Wednesday April 16, the Hamilton freshman baseball team played a double header against Mona Shores High School. Hamilton won the first game by a score of 3-1. Doug Dekker pitched five innings with six strikeouts and one walk. Ben Duimstra had some key hits and an RBI to contribute to the win.

Mona shores won the second game by a score of 11-7. The Hawkeyes came out strong in the beginning of the second game but they couldn’t hold on long enough to take the win. Keaton Mudd pitched a third of an inning along with Camden Blood pitching 3 2/3 innings and Elliot Klingenberg pitching 1 inning. The Hawkeyes gave up six runs early in the game but couldn’t come back for the win.
