Freshmen girls showing off hoop skills this season

With a record of 15-3, the girls’ freshmen basketball team is on fire, and the girls’ have rightfully earned everything that they have accomplished.

“I think that we communicate very well, and we get along, and that helps us play better,” Josie VanderVeen said. “ We also encourage each other on, and off the court.”

The girls also know how to play aggressively during games and practice, and they are great at playing half court defense.

“I think our greatest strength on offense is the fact that we push the floor and run,” Coach Mary Ayers said.

Not only is the team great on the court, but, they are also good off the court. They have made a strong bond as a team, and have fun whenever they are together.

The girls have only two games left in the season, playing at Zeeland West on Tuesday, February 22,  and hosting Unity Christian on Thursday, February 24.
