Hamilton boys baseball splits doubleheader vs East Kentwood

On Saturday April 26, the varsity baseball team took part in a doubleheader vs. East Kentwood. Ben Davage started the first game for the Hawkeyes. The Hawkeyes got the lead early by scoring two runs in the first inning, but East Kentwood would pull away getting a 6-3 win, thanks in part to 10 hits. Davage is now 0-2 on the season.

In the second game the Hawkeyes started senior Dylan Buresh. After a great start and a 4-2 Hamilton lead, Buresh ran into trouble in the 6th as Hamilton gave up five runs that inning. The Hawkeyes responded in the bottom half of the inning by putting up eight runs giving them a 12-7 victory. Alec Overbeek would get the win in relief for Buresh, improving his record to 3-1 on the season.

The split left Hamilton with a 7-6 record on the season.  The Hawkeyes face Zeeland West in a doubleheader Tuesday.
