Hamilton boys basketball sweeps Coopersville

Nick Kronemeyer looks to pass earlier this season. Kronemeyer fouled out in regulation and had to watch as the Hawkeyes came up just short against Unity.

The Freshman team played a well fought game on Friday. “They started out slow but were able to pull out a win in the end,” said coach Randall. By making adjustments on defense and making some excellent rebounds the boys final score was 41-38, a well earned victory.

The JV boys basketball team performed outstanding on Friday, Jan. 4. With the final score being 68- 21 in Hamilton’s favor, the boys seemed almost unstoppable.

Making the sweep complete, there was yet another win from the Varsity boys team on Friday. Coach Steve Sikma remarked “there was balanced scoring from Hamilton with 4 players in double figures, and strong free throw shooting.” With the final score being 67-55, it was another game fought until the end.

Maybe it was the fact that the student section went all out with neon on Friday, creating a fun and high energy atmosphere. Or maybe the boys have just been working extra hard in practice. Whatever it was, the boys basketball teams brought their game.
