The Hamilton Freshman football team dismantled the Holland Christian Maroons this Thursday by a score of 40-12.

The Hawkeye defense forced seven turnovers throughout the game. Zach Carlson picked off two passes from the HC QB. They returned two interceptions for touchdowns and scored on special teams also. It’s not something that happens a lot, but Hamilton scored in all facets of the game, offense, defense, and special teams.

They started out slow, but finished strong with an impressive victory over their bitter rivals.

The team improved to 5-1 record, which isn’t easily done. Next week they face a tough Zeeland West team as they try and keep their winning streak alive.

When asked about how the game went, Tyler Geurink had this to say.

“It was awesome and we beat them,” he said.

It was a sweet victory and Tyler said “Oh Yeah” after he was asked if beating HC felt good.
