The Hamilton girls cross country team lost for the first time on this season when the Hawkeyes scored 34 points to the Maroons 22, coming up 8 places behind yesterday.

The runners said it was one of the hardest courses yet, but the team still tried their best.  The meet was against Holland Christian at Johnson Park.

Freshman Erika Freyhof took first place for the team, while other girls, including senior Rebecca Koopman and junior Hope Fathman, also placed well.

So far in the season, the girls are 3-1 in dual meets, with just five meets left.

Good luck girls!
