Hamilton’s golf team grabbed 2nd place at the OK Green championship earlier today.
The Hawkeyes beat Unity Chritian by three stokes, 402-405 to win the race to runner-up behind Holland Christian, who had the top four scores of the day and came in with a 367.
Kennedy Purk led the Hawkeyes with a 94, good enough for 5th best score of the day. Her senior teammate Taylor Johnson shot a 96 for 8th place overall.
“What a great job by Taylor Johnson with her 96, and Kennedy Purk for her best ever 94,” Coach Kevin Arnold said.
Johnson was named Honorable Mention All-Conference for her performance this year.
Holland Christian’s Claire Spoelhof and Lydia Wiersma tied for medalist at 91.
Rounding out the scoring for Hamilton were Hannah VandeWege with a 105, and Molly Phillip and Heidi Mihm who tied at 107.
Coach Arnold added that he was “soooooo proud of them!”
