Hamilton, Rogers each hope to grab first conference victory

Hamilton will host Rogers tonight in their second home game of the year. Both squads are 0-3 in the OK-Green and Rogers has yet to win a game on the season. The Hawkeyes had a close game on Tuesday night at Hamilton High School against Wyoming Park as they lost 68-62.

The Hawkeyes will look to win their first conference game of the year and better their record to 3-3 on the season. This is the first Friday home game for the Hawkeyes and they are hoping for an energized crowd to help them take home the win.

“If we play like we did on Tuesday as far as intensity and defense, we will bring home the win,” Coach Steve Sikma said. “We are turning the ball over too much. We need to keep our turnovers at 15 or less tonight.”

According to Coach Sikma the keys to success tonight are good defense, good intensity, and to keep the turnover number down. If the Hawkeyes focus on those three things tonight they should come away with their first OK-Green win tonight.
