Hamilton swim team falls one point short to Holland Christian

The Hamilton girls swim team lost to Holland Christian by only one point on Monday, Oct. 16, by a score of  93.5 to 92.5.

In the girls 200 yard medley relay, seniors Hailey Fathman, Caty Martin, and Shelby Compton, teamed up with sophomore Stephanie Johnston to grab first place with a total time of 1:57.113.

Fathman also finished 2nd in the 200 yard freestle with a time of 2:01.933 and 3rd in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 55.083.

Johnston took first place with a time of 24.583 in the 50 free and came in just before Fathman in the 100 free with a time of 55.073, good for 2nd place.

In the 500 yard free Hamilton junior Chelsi Proos swam 5:52:22 to capture 2nd place.

Taking 1st place with a time of 1:02:003 in the 100 yard back was freshman Rileigh Eding.

Junior Cortni Ritter also landed a 1st place finish with a time of 1:17.38 in the 100 yard breaststroke.

The girl’s next meet with be at home on Tuesday, Oct 22, against Zeeland.
