Hamilton swimming defeats Byron Center

Tuesday night, the Hamilton swimmers and divers had a great meet against Byron Center and showed much improvement. With a score of 115-71, the boys win left them 2-1 in conference.

There were many exciting moments, and the swimmers’ described some of the best moments.

“The 4 by 1 relay (was great), because Zach Lepird held out to his competitor,” said Aaron Smit, a junior swimmer.

“The final score was the best part, and we all had a better mindset and rallied together with the younger swimmers,” sophomore Mathew Oonk said.

The competition was mostly good, depending on the event. At times there was not much,

“There were a couple guys that were competitive,” Smit added.

Adam Littell did well in diving for Hamilton got a final score of 246 points.

Winning events were: Ryan VanOss in the 200 Free, Zach Lepird in the 50 and 100 Free, Alec Nyboer in the 100 Fly and 100 Back, Drew Scholten in the 100 Breast, Adam Littell in diving, 200 Medley Relays, Ryan Underwood, Drew Scholten, Alec Nyboer, and Aaron VanDerMale, 200 Free Relays of Zach Lepird, Drew Scholten, Matt Oonk, and Aaron Smit, 400 Free Relays, Ryan VanOss, Austin Fogerty, Alec Nyboer, and Zach Lepird.

Over all the boys had a meet that definitely showed improvement. They worked together to fight hard against Byron Center, and earned their victory.
