Senior Erica Ruffner was proud of how the team swam.

“We had just come out of two mediocre meets,” she said. “Last night we were actually in [the meet]. We got out of our little slump.”

“The girls swam fast and focused,” Coach Eric Talsma said.

Due to last night’s motivation, the girls individually had many achievements.

Sophomore Stephanie Johnston set a new team record in the 50 Free. Richelle Terpstra, senior, achieved a new state cut in the 200 IM and the 500 Free and freshman Rileigh Eding also received a state cut in the 100 Fly

Ruffner cites Johnston’s record as a high point

“She dropped like seven seconds,” she said, “it was awesome.”

Ruffner also noted that junior Alex Wilkins tied a personal best time too.
