Hamilton to face undefeated Lancers

Coach Meyers gives instructions to quarterback Nick Kronemeyer.

After pounding Edwardsburg in the first round of the playoffs, the Hamilton varsity football team is taking on Stevensville Lakeshore in the second round of the playoffs. Hamilton is 6-4 on the season, while the Lancers come in undefeated at 10-0.

“I am excited,” Hamilton quarterback Nick Kronemeyer said, “we’ve never played an undefeated team. We’ve got nothing to lose.”

“We are excited as a team,” Jake Walters said, “This is an opportunity not any of us have had before. I feel that we will win because we all have worked hard and deserve it.”

Hamilton coaches said that the area they are most concerned with Lakeshore is their speed.

“Their running backs are very talented, the game will be close and probably come down to a couple of plays,” Coach Haverdink said. “It is exciting to be in the playoffs, but we are hungry to do more then just be in the playoffs.”

Hamilton will travel to the Lancers home turf Friday night looking for a win to secure them a spot into the third round of the Division III playoffs.
