Hawkeyes establish new 18 hole score under Coach Arnold

Hamilton finished 12th at the NorthPointe Invitational at Byron Center on Monday, with an 18-hole score of 415.

“I thought the girls played very well on a warm day on a tough golf course,” Coach Kevin Arnold said.

“Our 415 was the best score a Hamilton team had at an 18 hole event since I started coaching. We were 12th, but lost to schools much bigger and more established golf programs than ours,” he added.

Sam Klokkert shot a 98, her personal best 18-hole score.

“I think we played well and I am satisfied with the results,” she said. “The majority of our team had good scores for the course.”

Klokkert hopes to improve on this season, her first year on the varsity team.

She also still holds out hope that the team will achieve its goal of 3rd or better in conference.

“I think we’re looking good so far,” she said.
