Hawkeyes host Holland Christian on the hardwood in varsity doubleheader

Both boys and girls varsity basketball teams are looking to put another notch in the win column tonight with two big game against area rival Holland Christian.

The crowd will be decked out in pink to raise money for the American Cancer Society. It should be a good crowd, even with another winter storm bearing down on west Michigan.  A group of Hamilton Middle School students set-up the fundraiser and hope to raise $10,000 with the event. (See related story here.)

The Hawkeye girls have run up an impressive 16-1 record, including 7-0 in the conference.  However, it Holland Christian pushed the Hawkeyes to overtime the first time they met, and the Maroons (9-8) are hoping to make it another tough game for Hamilton.

The early game features the Hawkeyes (8-8 overall, 2-5 in the OK Green) against the Maroons (5-10, 3-5).  Despite the better overall record, Hamilton is a game behind Holland Christian in the OK Green and would like to close that gap tonight.

The boys will tip off first at 6 p.m., followed by the girls at 7:30.
