On Saturday night, fifteen singers returned to the Hamilton Idol finals in hopes of winning over the crowd with their admirable voices.

Starting off the show in the Elementary School category, Kyle DeNeef did an all out country style song and dance with
“Thank God I’m A Country Boy” by John Denver.  Lucas Myers did a rendition of “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey, and Mallory Zenk sang “Mamma Mia” by ABBA.  From DeNeef’s down-home country attitude, Myers’s unforgettable performance, and Zenk’s graceful performance, Mallory Zenk won the Elementary category.

There was a wide range of songs and voices that came from the Middle School category.  Anna Cole belted out Carrie Underwood’s “Just A Dream”, Catherine DeFouw sang “The Call” by Regina Spektor, Nicholas Edsall decided to go acapella and sing “Amazing Grace”, and Madison Thurston performed Sheryl Crow’s “The First Cut is The Deepest”. With so many different great voices to choose from, the Hamilton audience chose Anna Cole to be the winner of the Middle School category.

Moving into the High School division, there was a wide range of voices and talent. Hannah Brink sang Celine Dion’s “That’s The Way It Is”, Caleb Cole belted out “Haven’t Met You Yet” by Michael Buble, Aaron Polet sang “Not Over You” by Gavin DeGraw, Rachel Quillan performed Kelly Clarkson’s “A Moment Like This”, and finally Jessie Walters sang “Someone Like You” by Adele. The Idol audience had a tough decision to make, with such a big divison with so many people to choose from. After hearing all of the great voices, they chose Aaron Polet to win the High School division.

For the Adult finalists, Derek Brouwer sang Michael Buble’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, Katie Ockerman sang “From This Moment On” by Shania Twain, and Kristy Wood performed Lady Gaga’s “You and I”. Between Brouwer’s upbeat performance, a little bit of country from  Ockerman, and Wood spicing it up with Lady Gaga, Derek Brouwer won the Adult division.

After there had been a winner chosen from each category, each winner came back up stage and the audience voted one more time for the overall Hamilton Idol winner. After Mallory Zenk, Anna Cole, Aaron Polet, and Derek Brouwer had been gathered up on stage for a few minutes, the results were in. The crowd went crazy as confetti rained down on Hamilton Idol’s winner, Aaron Polet.
