Introducing the fastest Division 3 swimmer in Michigan: Stephanie Johnston.
What the 100m dash is to track and field, the 50m freestyle is to the pool. It is the marquee race that, for many, shows who is the fastest.
Hamilton’s junior freestyler Johnston claimed the title of fastest swimmer in D3 with titles in both the 50 free (23.81) and 100 free (52.08) in the state finals held Saturday at the Holland Aquatic Center.
Hamilton sophomore Rileigh Eding grabbed second spot in the 100 backstroke (57.52).
Hamilton’s 400m relay team also took second with Alex Wilkins and Cortni Ritter joining Eding and Johnston.
The 200 medley relay team of Eding, Ritter, Kristen Redder and Wilkins placed seventh.
Eding also placed 9th in the 50 free, while Wilkins was 12th in the 100 free.
