Coach Josh Hoppe was ecstatic after the win this past Thursday night. The Hawkeyes got their first win of the season against Gobles with a score of 66-6. Most of the damage was done in the first half when they ran up a score of 44-6. They never looked back.

“(The game went) very well,” running back Charlie Doeden said. “We scored a lot and had fun, but there’s still things we need to continue to work on to get better as a team.”

Hamilton is getting ready for Zeeland West next week and are still searching for their first League win against a good fundamentally sound Zeeland team.

The Hawkeyes have an overall record of 1-5, but are hoping to finish the season strong.
