JV soccer ready to host rival Holland Christian

Hunter Smith dribbles through the Holland Christian defense.

The JV soccer team has struggled at times this year, but they are looking strong after a tie with Rogers heading into the Holland Christian game.

“It is my hope that it will be a close fought game and we win,” JV Coach Bob Wandell said.

Coach Wandell hopes that his team continues to work hard, learns to finish, and plays well at the crucial times during the game.

“Our strength lies in our defense, but if we are able to establish possession and to finish and pass well then the game should go very well for us,” he said.

For sophomore Luke Hildebrand, there is no comparison from last year to this one.

“Our defense is going to shut them down and our keeper is going to make some great saves,” Hildenbrand said.  He added that even though the team lost 7-0 last year, he is not worried.

So, the JV soccer team headed into a big filled with confidence.
