JV tennis falls to North Pointe Christian

In a close fought match, the Hawkeyes dropped their match against North Pointe 4-3 yesterday.

The teams split the doubles matches, with North Pointe winning No. 1, 2, and 3 doubles and Hamilton winning No. 4, 5, and 6 doubles.

In singles, there was only one flight: Jacob Reaume for Hamilton played hard but lost 7-5, 6-2 in two sets.

The singles match and the No. 1 and 2 doubles matches all played best-of-three-sets, but the other matches were pro-sets in which the first to win 8 games takes the match. This method is used cases when time is and issue or in tournaments when there is a shortage of courts.

Hamilton seemed to play better in the pro-sets they played, winning three out of the four they played, and losing all of their best-of-three sets.
