Sports brief:

Hamilton’s JV girls volleyball team went 2-1 at the Holland Christian Quad.  Hamilton beat both Holland Christian and Zeeland East, but they fell to Hudsonville in their last match.

“(Hudsonville) started swinging really hard at us and we just weren’t in the right spots,” left side Aly Dyke said. “They were able to find the holes.”

This loss did not put a damper on the tournament as a whole for the Hamilton sophomore.  She explained that she felt “pretty good” about how the team performed overall- especially in their first two matches against Holland Christian and Zeeland East.

“We talked a lot, and had a lot of determination to beat Holland Christian, and that just carried over into the next game,” Dyke said.

She is optimistic about how the team looks this year and predicts a good record.
