JV volleyball team off to Spring Lake Tourney

The JV Volleyball team has had an aggressive season so far, winning six out of eighteen games, and tying two more of them, playing some really good games.

“We have improved quiet a bit this year,” said Holly Goodman, coach of the JV volleyball team.

“We have a diverse team with a wide range of strengths,” Coach Goodman said. “The girls work well together and get along. We have some good hitters, good passers, and good servers.”

The team has been struck with some bad luck this season, having Kenna Dyke out for a couple weeks with a back injury. Also, Josie Vanderveen, one of the team captains, has been struggling with two knee injuries and one foot injury.

The girls are heading to Spring Lake Saturday to compete in the Spring Lake Tournament. Grandville, Kenowa Hills, and Muskegon are some teams that Goodman’s team will be facing off against, and a possibility of playing Spring Lake, Ravenna, Zeeland West, or Creston in bracket play.
