Lady swimmers hope to speed to victory

The Hamilton girls swim team is looking to swim to victory this year after a very successful season last year  Despite losing many key swimmers due to graduation last year, the Hamilton Girls swim team kept their goals and expectations high.

Last year the team came home with a second consecutive conference trophy and a fourth place finish at the Division 3 State championships.

Some returning state swimmers are: Crystal Jager, Brittni Ritter, Madelyn Kempkers, and Manda Shierbeek.

Freshman Maddie Klenk, has already qualified for state in the 100 Breaststroke.

“I really hope to beat my time and hopefully place at the state meet,” said Klenk. “My team is very supportive and we have a lot of team leaders.”

The team has already faced two big teams both new and old due to the conference changes so far. Byron Center and Holland Christian are both rivals to the Hamilton swim program. Although they swam with a valiant effort they fell a little short of topping the rival teams.
