NHS welcomes honor students in solemn ceremony

NHS inductees Naomi Stafford (walking) and Jennie Styf (signing in) are pictured with current member Liz Vandenbil (center).

On Tuesday, January 10 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium, the National Honor Society conducted the induction ceremony for newly admitted members.

Selection was based on proficiency in the Society’s four pillars: Leadership, Character, Scholarship, and Service.  There were twenty-one new members inducted this year. The ceremony included the new inductees signing their names in a special book, lighting candles to signify a lifelong commitment to learning, and reciting a pledge promising to uphold the standards of the organization.

Family and friends of the inductees came out and supported the new members as they celebrated their acceptance into the NHS.
