Soccer falls to Plainwell

Hamilton sophomore Aaron Smit battles for a header in last night's loss to Plainwell.

The Hamilton varsity soccer team lost a tough fought 1-0 contest to host Plainwell High School in the District Semi-Finals Wednesday evening.

The rainy and windy conditions made the game difficult to play in.

The Hawkeyes played from behind after a goal in the first half.  Although they really locked down on defense in only allowing two shots all game, unfortunately one of those found its way to the back of the net.

Plainwell will now play Richland Gull Lake Saturday at 12pm in the District Finals with the winner going into the Regional Tournament.

The Hawkeyes finish their season with a record of 8-6-5.
