Varsity baseball clinches conference title

On Tuesday night, the Hamilton varsity baseball team took two from Holland in a double header clinching the OK Green title. This is the 5th time in 6 years for the Hawkeyes as they continue to dominate the conference.

In the first game, Hamilton pitcher Grant Wolfram was flawless as he had 15 strikeouts proving why he is the best pitcher in the conference. Wolfram only gave up one run off of a passed ball and only two hits. Hamilton won that game 8-1.

Brady Mudd pitched the second game for Hamilton. Mudd struck out one over six innings. Hamilton won 13-3 after calling the game for the mercy rule in the 6th inning.

Notable stats for Hamilton were as follows: Jared Overbeek, 5-7 with 5 RBIs; Elijah Walker, 5-8 with 3 RBIs; and Scott Scholten, 3 for 6 with 3 RBIs.

The Hawkeyes are now 11-3 in the conference and 16-7 overall. Their next game will be Thursday in a rematch against Holland.
