Varsity baseball wins a close one against GR Catholic Central

After being down big, Hamilton pulled off an 8-7 win over Grand Rapids Catholic Central on Saturday.

Catholic Central started off hot. They established a 7-2 lead by the end of the 3rd inning.

Slowly the Hawkeyes clawed their way back into the game.

Dylan Buresh came into pitch in the 5th inning. He started out strong, and didn’t look back from there. He finished the game without giving up a single run.

There were many athletes that had great offensive performances for the Hawkeyes. Both Jared Overbeek and Elijah Walker scored 2 runs. Tom Schreur came up big in the 6th inning, hitting the game winning RBI.

The team carries a 9-7 record into their next game on Tuesday against Unity Christian.
