Varsity girls golf have rough round at Pigeon Creek

The girl’s golf team took part in the OK Green Jamboree at Pigeon Creek last Wednesday, September 4.

Hamilton shot poorly finishing 6th out of six teams with a 245, a full 60 strokes behind  Holland Christian who placed 1st with a 185.

Hamilton’s Hannah Vandewege led the Hawkeyes with a 56.

She said she was not happy with her score, but did add that the course was very difficult with the long grass.  Vandewege has played golf for three years.

Taylor Eding scored a 63, which she also said was not her best. She started playing golf last summer and since then has significantly improved.

“The course had a lot of water so I so I got stuck in that and I think that’s what made my score suffer,” Eding said.

Mallory Draisma was unhappy not only about the score, but also about the loss of her mojo golf ball.

Though the day was rough the team plans to move forward and learn from their experiences.
