Varsity tennis able to win and strives to improve

The varsity boys tennis team was able to pull out a win over Otsego on Thursday, September 5, even with Otsego having three great single players including a state ranked player.

Brent Taratuta captured 4th singles, and the four double teams all won their matches.

“We played in two tie breakers and won both of them,” Coach Steve Lubbers.

Playing well isn’t the only thing on the teams mind.

“(We are) looking at improving,” first singles player Justin FolkertĀ  “and give our best.”

Improving every practice and match will surely help them accomplish the goals set out for this season. They want to earn academic all state honors as a team, finish top three in the conference, and top four in the region.

The players also have goals pertaining to themselves not just the team.

“(I) want to come out with a winning record,” fourth singles player Brent Taratuta said.
